How to Make a Dark and Stormy cocktail?

The dark and stormy drink came into form more than 100 years ago in the Caribbean waters, when members of Bermuda’s Royal Naval Officer’s Club added a splash of the local rum to their spicy homemade ginger beer. They described its ominous hue as “the color of a cloud only a fool or dead man would sail under.” This refreshing and tasty drink is very simple two-ingredient cocktail of dark rum (the “dark”) and ginger beer (the “stormy”).If you like, try floating the rum on top of the ginger beer to create a layered dark and stormy.

Ingredients

2 oz.

dark rum(Gosling’s Black Seal)

3 oz.

ginger beer

1/2 oz.

lime juice (optional)

Garnish: lime wedge

Directions

1. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Add rum.
2. Top with ginger beer and lime juice.
3. Stir with a barspoon.
4. Garnish with a lime wedge.
