A Royal Bar: The Sahib Room & Kipling Bar
The beauty of The Sahib Room & Kipling Bar lies in its royal feel and a British Raj vibe to it. The bar gets its inspiration from the colonial-era lives of the ‘Sahibs’. As soon as one enters, calmness resides in and a gramophone is seen placed at the reception. Not only an old-fashioned phone, but many other artifacts such as a magnifying glass, a pipe, and old books give the bar an ancient touch. The ambience is one of a kind and is pure class. The high porter’s chair can be seen and the place also has verandah like seating outside the restaurant. One can also find artistic water-color paintings representing the colonial past of India.
The Sahib Room offers a mix of Kashmiri, Awadhi, Lucknavi, and Hyderabadi cuisine here. “The focus is firmly on the flavors and less on overtly spicy and oily dishes,” says chef Paul Kinny, the group director of culinary services at Palladium Hotel. Best place for non-vegetarians to try the Gilawati Kebab, Jaituni Pomfret, and various other options. The vegetarians do not need to be disappointed, as some yum food is served for them, including Sabzani Paneer Tikka, Kandhari Paneer Tikka, Subz Sheekh Kebab, Broccoli Dal Bangla, Sahib Ki Dal E Khaas, etc. From the soup section, try Nalli ka Shorba and the famous, Phalon ka Shorba. End the heavy dinner with the tasty paan ice cream.
