There’s a latest classy bar in the city. Located in an best spot in Lower Parel is one of Delhi’s hottest bar—PCO (Pass Code Only)—the cocktail-forward bar that has been known for its focus on classic pre-prohibition and prohibition cocktails. True to its name, you’ll need a code to get in, if you can find the place, that is.

PCO started its journey 10 years ago from Delhi, it created waves amongst the capital’s swish set. Run by siblings Rakshay and Radhika Dhariwal of Pass Code Hospitality, PCO occupies a 2357sq ft alfresco space and is the only dedicated cocktail bar in the city. While Mumbai had a small set of bars that were trying to be cocktail forward, they have all sadly disappeared over the last two years.

The sibling duo, who also run the restaurants Saz, Ping’s and Jamun across New Delhi, Kolkata, Goa have finally come to Mumbai with a bang—this week, apart from PCO, they launch the American brasserie Saz and Ping’s, an Asian street food restaurant, all located right next to the other at a busy Lower Parel junction. “We really wanted to get our Bombay launch right, which is why it’s taken us so long to enter the market,” explains Rakshay, as I settle down to sip and savour some of Delhi’s much loved cocktails that showcase both technique and ingredients. “Thanks to our Goa restaurants [Ping’s Bia Hoi, Jamun, Saz by the Beach], Bombay diners are familiar with who we are and what we offer, so it makes this launch easier,” says Rakshay. The space, an airy spot in the heart of the city, takes design cues from its location—there’s an Art Deco inspired bar, grungy walls, and all-glass private dining room with a tropical mural and rattan bar chairs that add to the vibe.
