Spaceman Spirits Lab Launches Premium Craft Rum SĪTÄRĀ
New Delhi, November 23, 2023: Spaceman Spirits Lab Private Limited (SSLPL), maker of premium Indian craft gin Samsāra, has announced its foray into the craft rum segment with the launch of its latest offering, SĪTÄRĀ. As part of its first collection under the SĪTÄRĀ Rum series, ‘The Maiden Voyage’, the company has unveiled two premium rum variants that have been distilled on the tropical shores of the Indian Peninsula.
The first offering is the SĪTÄRĀ Barrel Aged White Rum which is a blend of column and pot distilled Indian rums that are aged in Virgin American Oak barrels and then charcoal filtered to achieve a clear spirit.
The second release is the SĪTÄRĀ Botanical Spiced Rum which is also a blend of column and pot distilled Indian rums. However, this variant is aged for a slightly longer duration and then infused with seven handpicked botanicals to create a spiced rum with a distinctively Indian personality. These botanicals include Cinnamon, Ginger, Orange, Hibiscus, Vanilla, Coffee and Cacao Beans.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Aditya Aggarwal, Founder and Managing Director, Spaceman Spirits Lab Private Limited said, “After successfully establishing brand Samsāra in the Craft Gin space, we are now excited to debut our premium hand-crafted rum SĪTÄRĀ. With this entry into the Craft Rum segment, we aim to become a leading player in the Indian Craft Spirits industry.”
The SĪTÄRĀ Barrel Aged White Rum and SĪTÄRĀ Botanical Spiced Rum have been made available in the beach capital of India, Goa, to begin with. This launch will be followed shortly by other prominent markets in the country.
“Post this launch, we also plan to add premium vodka and tequila offerings to our portfolio as well”, Mr Aggarwal added.
In 2020-21, Spaceman Spirits Lab Private Limited (SSLPL) had entered the craft spirits segment with its premium gin, Samsāra. The company, known for launching India’s first ‘Pink Gin’ under brand Samsāra, has emerged to be one of the fastest-growing craft Gin brands in India. Today, the company has the largest gin portfolio in the country and one of the highest domestic volumes in the space.
Recently, leading Indian-Made Foreign Liquor manufacturer, Tilaknagar Industries Limited, one of India’s largest manufacturers of premium brandy, acquired a 10 per cent stake in Spaceman Spirits Lab Private Limited (SSLPL) for Rs 9.75 crore.
In Goa, the SĪTÄRĀ Barrel White Aged Rum is available at INR 1200 (750 ml) and the SĪTÄRĀ Botanical Spiced Rum at INR 1350 (750 ml).
