1. Nick Jonas Villa One Tequila
Along with Stoli and fashion designer John Varvatos, India’s favourite Jonas Brother launched his own tequila brand back in 2019. Like a lot of Jonas things in the world, this tequila brand also comes in three distinct, delicious variants: silver, reposado and añejo. And as with all things in the Jonas household, Villa One is something of a celebrity itself; last making an appearance in hype-woman Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ hands on the Ellen Show, while promoting The White Tiger.
2. Jay-Z
Jay-Z first introduced Armand de Brignac, rooted in the Champagne town of Chigny-les-Roses, in 2006, in the video for “Show Me What You Got”. In 2014, reports Wall Street Journal, he took complete ownership of the brand, adding to a portfolio that includes the talent agency Roc Nation, D’Usse Cognac and, soon, a cannabis startup.
3. Kendall Jenner 818 Tequila
There’s a Jenner in the picture, so naturally there’s controversy miles before anyone’s got a taste. Kendall’s brand new tequila, as she declared on her Instagram earlier this week, is a small-batch offering, the result of “a 3.5 year journey to create the best-tasting tequila”. Everyone from Dwayne The Rock Johnson to George Clooney own tequila brands, but the Internet has taken collective offence to Jenner’s. Accusations in the range of cultural appropriation to “you do not drink tequila on the rocks!” (as she did in her Instagram post) have been shot across. Jenner’s tequila is made from agave.
