2.Brew Whale, Khar West

At its growler station at Khar West, Brew Whale has launched a new beer—The Oktoberfest Lager, to commemorate the German festival. Given the sudden ubiquity of heavily flavoured ales, such as stouts and hazy IPA’s, the brand thought that they would gravitate back toward simpler, more drinkable beer. In other words, a beer that tastes like beer. And what better occasion than Oktoberfest. The Oktoberfest Lager is pale gold with a frothy white head and packs a bread-like malty flavour. Brew Whale has ensured that this beer retains the crispness of a lager with a fairly non-existent hop flavour. The low ABV makes it a highly sessionable beer, i.e., very drinkable and ideal for a long afternoon or evening with friends.

3.Woodside Inn, Colaba, Bandra and Andheri

Woodside Inn launched its first ‘Beer and Burger Festival’ in 2008. Now in its fourteenth edition, they have drawn inspiration from one of the most popular festivals in the world—Oktoberfest. This year, Woodside Inn has launched six gourmet burgers alongside three limited-edition craft beers brewed especially for their ‘Beer and Burger Festival, Oktoberfest Edition.’ Our top picks from their special beer offerings include the ‘Gretel’s Gose’ by 2 Down Brewing Company, which is a savoury, slightly tart and refreshing beer and ‘Helga’s Helles,’ a delicious and light lager by Gateway Brewing Company. From the burgers, don’t miss their Hähnchen-Schnitzel Burger, a crispy chicken schnitzel burger with homemade maltaise sauce and the Weißwürste Burger with chicken weisswurst sausages, chicken mince patty, honey mustard sauce and cheddar cheese.
