Gujrat is no more a dry state for Travelers

Gujrat is one of the dry states declared by the government and is the only Indian state with a death penalty for makers and sellers of home-made liquor where fatalities are caused, but the truth is prohibition has done nothing more than drive liquor underground.

Travelers need booze to pump them up during the days of the long and tiring days of their journey. They also have a lot of perks because of this profession like ‘Visitor’s Permit’ in Gujrat, which means travelers can apply for the liquor permit within four days of their arrival in Gujarat. Visitors who are visiting for more than a week can apply for this special privilege, which will give you access to “one unit” of alcohol. But, before that, you need to prove that you are not a permanent resident of Gujrat.

For the license, you need to visit the home department’s E-permit portal and set yourself a profile. Follow the instructions and upload the soft copies of the relevant document when and where required.

Lastly, make a payment of INR70 payment via net banking or cards. After the payment has been completed, you can download your liquor permit and take a printout of the same when you visit the liquor store.

After receiving the license, it will ultimately be a pass for the travelers to buy alcohol from any authorized liquor shop across Gujrat.

Gujrat government has started issuing liquor permits to all foreign travelers and the domestic traveler who will be landing in the Vadodara and Bhuj airports. According to Sanjay Kaul, Commissioner of Gujrat Tourism, the process has already begun after the order has been issued.
