Royal Stag, also known as Seagram’s Royal Stag, is an Indian-made foreign liquor. It was launched in 1995 and is Pernod Ricard’s bestselling brand by volume. Seagram has launched this brand especially for the Indian market and it’s a successful step. Royal stag is a full-bodied, blended whisky, a blend of imported Scotch Malts and selected Indian Grain Sprits.
Positioned as a premium whisky, the brand’s slogan is: “It’s your life, make it large.” The best thing about the whiskey is its exceptional smoothness, taste, and its richly blended malty-flavor. The company has given a statement in their advertisements that they haven’t used any artificial colour and flavor and is less pricey.
The whiskey is available in different packs. Royal Stag Barrel Select has 42.8% ABV, the standard limit for all Indian whiskies. 750 ml bottle comes with pilfer proof dispenser and is packed in good cardboard box. Royal Stag has managed to attract the audience in both its domestic and African markets as consumers increasingly turn towards international brands. Royal Stag along with the company’s four other core brands Seagram’s Imperial Blue, Seagram’s Blenders Pride, Chivas Regal, and Seagram’s 100 Pipers have helped to build its spirits business in India.
