Know more about the Bira 91 beer.

Bira 91 came in the market as the drink for the “millennial consumers” and as an alternative to the international brews imported to India with quirky and contemporary packaging. This craft beer was launched by B9 Beverages Pvt. Ltd. in February 2015 and was a success. The drink was introduced as one of the first low-calorie beers to be introduced in the Indian market (90 calories for a 330 ml bottle). Made from wheat, barley, and hops, the beer is available in draft, 330ml, 650ml bottles, and 500ml cans. The alcohol by volume of the beer is at about 7% and aims to disrupt the mainstream beer market by leading a revolution of taste. Bira 91 has five beers in its portfolio, namely Bira 91 White (a low bitterness wheat beer with abv 4%), Bira 91 Blonde (an extra hoppy craft lager), Bira 91 Light (a low-calorie lunchtime lager), Bira 91 Strong (a high-intensity wheat beer with abv 7%), and The Bira 91 Indian Pale Ale (the first IPA brewed and bottled in India).

Bira 91 Light is the lowest calorie beer you’ll get in a bar, even lower than Breezers, wine, or cocktails. Bira 91 Strong is a high-intensity wheat beer and is a top-fermented ale that gives the beer a rich and quality taste, lowering the bitterness with honey and caramel notes. Bira 91 White is a cloudy wheat beer with aromas like citrus and coriander and is low on bitterness. Bira 91 Blonde is a light beer and is made with barley, extra malty and high hopped with a delicate aroma and a perfectly balanced dash of bitter.

The taste of the beer suffers an unbalanced bitterness with its light wheaty flavor and a big dose of coriander and a bit of orange kick.

Bira 91, is now operating in a wide price range. Bira White, Bira 91 Strong, and Bira 91 Blunt are priced between Rs90 and Rs120 for a 330 ml bottle.
