4 All-time favorite gin cocktails to help you beat the summer heat!
A good gin cocktail can only be made with a good gin. There is no shortage of good gin in the market and some gin you use can complement others in certain cocktails more than others. Some of my favorites are listed below
1. Bellevue Heights
Bellevue Heights is a classic refreshing and summery drink, invented in Clover Club and the Bellevue-Stratford hotel in Philadelphia. The ingredients of the cocktail are Sweet vermouth, whiskey, maraschino liqueur, and lemon. The drink playing elegantly well with gin and fino sherry and has subtle notes of nutty, fruity and creaminess.
2. Flora Dora
This is a slight mess of fresh raspberries prepared with a mix of lime, gin and ginger soda, which gives it a pretty pink color. The recipe is quite simple and is often called a “girly drink”. The ingredients of the drink are gin, lime juice, ginger ale, and framboise liqueur, which are later poured together in a high glass.
3. Ginger Gin Fizz
A ginger gin fizz is a fizzy and perfect drink to beat the hot summer afternoons. This brunch ginger-infused gin cocktail is garnished with an orange peel and the ingredients are ginger-infused gin, egg white, citrus, ginger bitters, and soda. The drink is served with 2 bendy straws and not one.
4. New Slang
New Slang is not only preferred by the young, new generation but also, by the oldies. This modern classic cocktail with a kick of sweetness is simple to prepare and is garnished with speared maraschino cherries and lime wheels. The ingredients of the drink are Bombay sapphire gin, cherry shrub, Pineapple juice, Fresh lime juice, Salt solution, Coconut water soda, and Maraschino cherries.
