The Corpse Reviver is a family of cocktails which is sometimes drunk as a cure for hangover, and as the name suggests also has a potency to tongue in cheek be able to revive even a dead person.
A recipe of the drink appeared in the Gentleman’s Table Guide in 1871 that called for 1/2 a wine glass of brandy, 1/2 a wine glass of Maraschino, and two dashes of Boker’s bitters. Since then, various type of recipe with some variations have been featured in different magazines.
We present you one of the most popular Reviver drink(Savoy recipe). So try it and you won’t be disappointed.
Ingredients
- Absinthe, to rinse
- 3/4 oz Gin
- 3/4 oz Orange liqueur
- 3/4 oz Lillet blanc
- 3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice
Steps
- Rinse a chilled coupe or Martini glass with absinthe and set aside.
- Add the remaining ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake properly.
- Strain into the prepared glass.
